Wedding gratutities

Here is a simple guide to help you figure out how much gratuity to give each of your vendors.

CATERER
Usually, the tip is agreed upon before hand and is included in the contract as "service fee" or "service charge".

WAITSTAFF
15%-18% of total bill

BARTENDERS
15%-18% of total bar bill

MUSICIANS or BAND
$25 per band member or musician

DJ
15% of total bill

LIMO DRIVER
15%-20% of bill

PARKING/RESTROOM/COAT CHECK/VALET
$.50-$2 per guest

Vendors who do not require or expect to get a gratuity:

FLORIST

PHOTOGRAPHER

BAKERS

WEDDING COORDINATORS

(If you find that any of these services have been extraordinary, a tip of 15%-20% is appropriate.)

OFFICIANT
Wedding etiquette says that an officiant is never tipped.

Make sure that you plan to include tips in your budget, because, depending on the size of your affair, tipping costs can become quite substantial, easily increasing your costs by hundreds or even thousands of dollars.
